![]() ![]() Keep in mind that most of the men who founded most of the great churches that are existing today would not be in those same churches today for the very reason they left their churches in their day. In those traditions we begin taking on the traditions of men. Trying to figure out everything he meant by everything he said. ![]() To the point we write great volumes of books trying to strain out every nuance of thought that man had during his lifetime. The further we get removed from that founder, the more structured, the more traditionalist we become. It could be any founder at any period of time in the centuries past. “Organizations conform to historic ideals. But he will fear nothing that breaths with mortal breath. He will love Christ and the souls of men to the point of willingness to die for the glory of the one and the salvation of the other. Such a man is likely to be lean, rugged, blunt-spoken and a little bit angry with the world. He will contradict, denounce and protest in the name of God and will earn the hatred and opposition of a large segment of Christendom. ![]() When he comes (and I pray God there will be not one but many) he will stand in flat contradiction to everything our smirking, smooth civilization holds dear. He must be the old prophet type, a man who has seen visions of God and has heard a voice from the throne. Another kind of leader must arise from among us. All these have been tried and found wanting. Neither will the priestly type of man who carries out his duties, takes his pay and asks no questions, nor the smooth-talking pastoral type who knows how to make the Christian religion acceptable to everyone. “If Christianity is to receive a rejuvenation it must be by other means than any now being used.The proper, ruler-of-the-synagogue type will never do. ![]()
